Our approach: strictly necessary only
Dishlane sets no analytics, tracking or advertising cookies — zero, on this site and on every restaurant site the platform serves. Everything we store in your browser is strictly necessary or functional: signing staff in, remembering your table or your cart, and remembering your theme preference.
Because nothing we set is used to track you, we do not interrupt you with a consent banner for it — we simply keep to storage the service genuinely needs and list all of it below.
The complete list
This is every cookie and browser-storage item the platform uses. There are no others.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
| payload-token | Cookie (HTTP-only) | Staff and admin sign-in session only. This cookie is never set for visitors or customers browsing or ordering. | Session token, 2 hours by default (SameSite=Lax) |
| qs_table | Cookie | Remembers your table during an order-at-table session in the restaurant. Strictly functional. | 3 hours |
| qs-cart:<restaurant> | localStorage | Your cart items for that restaurant so the basket survives a page reload. No prices are stored — the server recomputes them. | Until you clear your browser storage |
| kds-chime-enabled | localStorage | Staff-only preference: whether the kitchen display plays a sound on new orders. | Until cleared |
| qs-assistant-<restaurant> | sessionStorage | Your chat history with the menu assistant, kept only in your own browser. It is never sent to our servers for storage. | Deleted when the tab closes |
| dl-theme · dl-ops-theme · dl-ops-recent | localStorage | Light/dark theme preference on this site and the operator dashboard, and an operator's own recent searches. Preferences only — nothing is transmitted. | Until cleared |
Worth knowing
- payload-token is set only when a staff member or administrator signs in. Ordinary visitors and customers never receive it.
- The admin session uses Payload's defaults: a 2-hour token with SameSite=Lax.
- The assistant chat history lives in sessionStorage — it exists only in your own browser and disappears when the tab closes.
- The cart stores item selections but no prices; prices are always recomputed on the server.
Managing storage
You can clear cookies and site storage in your browser settings at any time. Doing so signs staff out, empties carts and resets theme preferences — nothing else, because nothing else is stored.
